Thirty-nine people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in west London in the early hours of New Year’s Eve.
A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the incident in Fulham Palace Road in Hammersmith, the Metropolitan Police said.
The suspects were arrested at a property near the scene and taken into custody at several police stations.
Police were called to reports of a stabbing in the street shortly before 1am.
A spokesman said: “Officers and LAS (London Ambulance Service) attended. A man, believed to be in his 30s, was found with stab injuries.
“He was treated at the scene by officers and paramedics and then taken to hospital.
“His injuries have been assessed as life-threatening.
“A total of 39 people were arrested at a property near the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. They have been taken into custody.”
