I’m looking forward to tonight’s show: two hours of the very best of the 60’s and 70’s.
In our 1st in, last out spot we will be playing Shirley Bassey and Anthony Newley …. if you want to know why, you’ll have to listen. We will also be playing the top ten from 1964, as it was this weekend back then that the world was introduced to “Match of the Day”. Like it or loathe it, it has been a staple of our sports viewing for the past 51 years. If you had been listening to the radio back then you would have been treated to Billy J Kramer, The Rolling Stones, The Nashville Teens, The Barron Knights, Jim Reeves, The Honeycombs, the Beatles and Manfred Mann. However, you will need to listen in to find out which tracks they will be. On the second side of the programme we will be playing several number ones from 1979 … all this and we will still find time for our /Audio Word Search where we type in a word into Stafford FM’s extensive playlist archive and then simply play what comes up …. as long as it has the key word in its title and it charted in the 60’s and 70’s.
So there you have it…… todays show on a postage stamp. See you all at 6 o’clock. hope you can join me.
