Sunday’s Solid Gold Sunday is now ready for blast-off. The running order has now been finalised, the tracks ready to be “normalised” and therefore ready to play and my crib notes have been written. It has been a busy week. However, as with all music, history is a strange thing. It never ceases to amaze me how many “bands came out of bands”, or who started off where and then ended up somewhere else, if you know what I mean. The perfect example is my first in, last out spot. This Sunday I am playing “She’s not there” by The Zombies and then the version by Santana. Well, with regard to The Zombies,  I have known for a long time that the lead singer was Colin Bluntstone …  he who has a couple of solo hits in the 1970’s. I don’t believe in miracles and Say you don’t mind: both of which I purchased first time round. I was also a big Argent fan, especially the track Hold your head up and God gave rock and roll to us.  Well, the bit of trivia is (and I didn’t know this) that Rod Argent of the band of the same name was the key board player in The Zombies. If you are sad like me, these facts are brilliant. Bring on more trivia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you on Sunday, and in the meantime I will start the whole planning process again fro a week on Sunday.

Regards
