A father of four who had his ears cut off in a street attack has died in hospital.
Sajed Choudry was seriously injured in what police described as a “large-scale disturbance” near his home in Blackburn last month.
The 43-year-old had been in hospital since the attack at about 10.35pm on 27 November.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said Mr Choudry died from his injuries on Thursday, and a post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of his death.
A 24-year-old man was also seriously injured during the attack and is recovering.
A 13-year-old boy and three men from Blackburn – Rafaqat Ali, Fazal Ilahi and Sadaqat Ali – had earlier been charged with attempted murder.
They are all due to appear at Preston Crown Court on Monday 17 December.
Mr Choudry’s family has asked for privacy.
