Rachel Holley, a volunteer at Tunbridge Wells Samaritans, will cover a thousand miles, riding on the tandem with a different person each day and visiting 26 Samaritans branches on the way. As a former Samaritans caller, Rachel hopes that the ride will encourage people to reach out for support, and consider volunteering. She visited the Stafford branch today and spoke to me on a phone in, about her journey. After collecting Stafford Samaritans volunteer, Alan Alecock to join her on the tandem , she continued her ride. you can donate via the link below……

RACHEL said;

Sometimes life throws up challenges too big to tackle by yourself. Like, for example, cycling from Lands End to John o’ Groats on a tandem…
However, one of the messages I want to send by trying to do the cycle in support of Samaritans, is that nobody has to tackle life’s challenges alone. There’s no shame in needing some support; it’s ok to ask for help. And since there’s definitely no way I’ll manage to get from LE to JOG on a tandem by myself, I’m going to be asking for lots of help!
