Staffordshire Police are concerned about the welfare of a 46-year-old man, who has gone missing and is believed to be in the Barlaston area.

David Bettany has been missing since Saturday 18 August. His car was found outside the Plume of Feathers public house, Barlaston.

He is described as white, medium build with closely shaved hair and stubble. He is also thought to be wearing jeans and t-shirt. David has a tattoo on his wrist of a Joshua Tree and a tattoo of the name Mandy on his right arm.

Anyone who has seen David or knows of his whereabouts is urged to call Staffordshire Police immediately on 101 quoting incident number 608/18 August or CRIMESTOPPERS anonymously on 0800-555-111


Staffordshire Police were called to the Barlaston area during the afternoon of Monday August 20, following reports a body had been found. 

Officers attended and, sadly, we can confirm the man found is David Bettany, 46, reported missing from his home address in Longton on Saturday (August 18). 

Mr Bettany’s family are aware and are being supported by specially trained officers during this difficult time. 

Our thoughts and condolences are with them. We do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner.
