A spokesperson for JD Wetherspoon today confirmed that the Picture House has flooding once again following rainfall from Storm Christoph. The pub reopened in September 2020 following a £700,000 refurbishment after it flooded in October 2019.
Images on social media show multiple fire engines outside the building which have been confirmed to be assisting with the flood.
The pub had only reopened for a couple of months before it was forced to close again due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.
The pub was formerly the site of the Picture House Cinema in Stafford and is a Grade II listed building. It opened as a JD Wetherspoon pub back in 1997 following the decline of single-screen cinemas.
