A 38-year-old man has been fined and given a 12-month community order after admitting stealing a bike in Stafford.
Kendo Cartwright, appeared at Cannock Magistrates’ Court yesterday (July 11) and pleaded guilty to the theft of a bike and bike wheels in Stafford on July 6.
Cartwright, of Hawksmoor Road, Stafford, admitted the theft of a bike and the theft of two bike wheels in the Lichfield Road area.
He also admitted possession of cannabis and was given a 12-month community order, ordered to pay a £50 fine and compensation and costs totalling £235.
Chief Inspector Gemma Ward, of Stafford Neighbourhood Policing Team, said that a recent increase in thefts of push bikes meant that the Neighbourhood Policing Team was tackling the matter as a local priority.
