Households across the borough will start receiving leaflets from Monday 21st May advising on potential changes to bin collections.

The council’s new recycling and waste contractor, Veolia, has been reviewing routes for the weekly bin collections with the aim of making the service more efficient – especially with the increase in houses built in the area over the last few years.

Residents will be issued with a new two year bin collection calendar in June to say which day of the week their bins will be collected. The council say the system will stay the same – with the green bin for rubbish collected on one week and the blue recycling and brown garden waste bin emptied on the same day on the alternate week.

The changes will not come in to operation until the week beginning Monday 2 July.
